- V5 is the, the first version of 2nd Generation consoles. The main diference with all the other models, is that this version have a unic type of laser eye, which is not compatible with any other version. Also notice that no spare parts are available for this type of laser eye, yet.
- You can recognise it, from 1st generation consoles, by:
1. The model number scph-3000xR + the extra screw in the expansion bay
- You can recognise it, from other 2nd Generation consoles, by:
1. The weight, as long as it has a havier Heat sink than V6 & V6R consoles.
- Laser Eye, is not compatible with any other PS2 console, and no spare-parts are available, yet.

DO NOT solder in bios points, cause this may effect in your consoles' mainboard.
DO NOT use any CD-backups over 650 mb, you may tune off your laser adjustment.

- V4R consoles - (model scph-3000xR with electric warning hazard and 8 screws)

--> Mainboard type#3

This type of mainboard is compatible with all V5 consoles.
It is a 1 piece mainboard with upgraded bios.

--> Cd-rom type#3

This type of Cd-rom is compatible with with all V5 consoles.

--> Laser Eye type#2

This type of Laser eye is compatible with all V5 consoles (not V4R, V6, V6R)

--> Heat Sink type#3

This type of Heat sink is compatible with all V5, V6, V6R consoles.

2. Select your system (PAL-NTSC)
3. Insert your serial (f.e. c256731)
4. Select your version optional V3 V4 V4R V5 V6 V6R
