Generally, when we have Laser eye upgrades, we have a new MODEL,
and when we have a mainboard or any other update, we have a new VERSION.

- V1/V2 consoles - SCPH-3xxxx + serial number u1xxxxx/u0xxxxx

You can recognize these versions by the diferent type of sticker, or by the serial number.

- V3 consoles - SCPH-3xxxx + 10 screws

You can recognize these versions,
if you count 10 screws underside the PS2.

Check this version inside!

- V4 consoles - SCPH-3xxxx + 8 screws

You can recognize these versions,
if you count 8 screws underside the PS2.

Check this version inside!

- V4R consoles - SCPH-3xxxxR + 2 screws in the expansion bay

You can recognize these versions, if you open the "Expansion Bay" and count 2 screws in gold colour.

Check this version inside!

This screw, should be missing!

- V5/V6 consoles - SCPH-3xxxxR + 3 screws in the expansion bay - normal type

To distinguish V5/V6 from V4R consoles open the "Expansion Bay". You should count 2 screws in gold colour and 1 screw in silver colour.

V5 and V6 consoles, have a normal type connector,
that connect Eject/Reset button to the mainboard.

- V6R consoles - SCPH-3xxxxR + 3 screws in the expansion bay - reversed type

To distinguish V5/V6 from V4R consoles open the "Expansion Bay". You should count 2 screws in gold colour and 1 screw in silver colour.

Check this version inside!

V6R consoles, have a reversed type connector,
that connect Eject/Reset button to the mainboard.

Check everything inside Playstation 2, without opening it!
